as part of instrument flying, but anyone interested in learning Morse code ought

Being able to quickly identify those NDB's, DME's and VOR's without needing to lookup the Morse is really quite handy, as it reduces the cabin workload that little bit more. Knowing Morse is a must for some of the commercial / instrument ratings. On approach and in cloud where the workload is high, you will be able to rapidly 'ident' the ILS without looking away from your instrument scan! Radio hams and other users ought to find this program helpful too, as you can switch the program into 'Radio Ham' mode. In this mode, numbers and basic punctuation are included. You even get the brand new code for the symbol @, which brings Morse into the 20th Century! |
